Bed sizes for every current pickup, measured the way the makers measure them, and what fits in each.

Before you load a truck

  1. Use the floor length, not the bed name. A “5.5 ft” bed is 67 in at the floor on an F-150 and 65.6 in on a Tundra.
  2. Check the gap between the wheel wells. It decides whether 4 ft wide sheets lie flat. Every full-size pickup clears 48 in; most midsize ones don’t.
  3. Check the payload, not just the space. A bed full of gravel or wet soil can weigh more than the truck is rated to carry. The payload is on the sticker in the driver’s door jamb.
